Actually, even suicidal ideation can be a “planning” problem. The prefrontal cortex has to plan. It’s what PFCs do. But what if right now, there appears to be no way out of bad situation. Well, your automatic handy-dandy PFC has an idea for you. Kill yourself! Great idea, brain! Problem solved, right? That’s when it’s time to say, “Thanks for sharing.
